It’s honestly wild how someone can say with a straight face that they "don’t like darkships," and then turn around and shout “darkships fucking rock, hell yeah. <3” (March 23, 2025) like we’re all just going to ignore the whiplash from that contradiction. You can’t just flip-flop between disapproval and praise depending on the crowd you’re in. It doesn’t make you neutral or complex, it makes you inconsistent and painfully transparent. People see right through that. You try to pretend you’re above it all, like you're some morally clean observer, watching from the sidelines, but then you cheer for the very content you supposedly disapprove of. And for what? Clout? Safety? Trying to seem palatable to both sides of the fandom war? People in fandom spaces; especially ones dealing with morally grey or dark content aren’t stupid. If you genuinely found darkships disturbing or problematic, you wouldn’t be yelling about how much they rock like, it’s a rock concert for fictional war criminals. And if you like dark content, that's not exactly fine; notheless, it's more wrong than liking proships or being a proshipper itself. And don’t lie, pretend, or twist your words to seem like you’re somehow better than everyone else engaging with the same media you’re secretly obsessed with. That fake neutrality doesn’t make you nuanced; it makes you look like a coward who’s terrified of owning their own interests. Fandom isn’t high school. Nobody’s going to give you extra credit for pretending to hate something just because a few loud voices told you it’s wrong. Be real, or just stop talking; because the mental gymnastics you’re doing are exhausting to watch, and at this point, it’s embarrassing more than anything else.
Although please add that it doesn't hurt anyone if it's fictional even though the reason why it became of is because of an actual real life experience and you are validating it by saying it's fictional if you like reading it you are sick. And thinking it doesn't anyone is completely wrong it quite literally stemmed from real life victims experiences you just adjusted a few things to make it fictional but the main point is that those are real life experiences and the reason why it exists is because it has actually happened in real life and has had real affects on the person it's not fictional it's real and is still being done in current times.
And look, I get you're not a kid liker, nor a pedophile. No one's saying you are. That’s not what this is about. The issue isn’t about labeling you something you're not, it's about calling out the blatant hypocrisy and the performative attitude you keep broadcasting. Nobody's accusing you of being into illegal stuff just because you said "hell yeah" to a morally complex ship. What people are noticing is how hard you're trying to pretend you're clean while rolling around in the same mud you criticize. So don't start playing victim or twisting the narrative like someone just attacked your entire moral code. The only thing being called out here is your own words. If you're going to be loud about your opinions, expect people to notice when they don't like the same thing as you, nor when they don't even line up.
